When you still have healthy teeth, a partial fills the gaps and clasps gently onto its neighbors. If you'd rather have something cemented in place, a bridge covers some of the same ground.

Plan on a handful of visits over a few weeks. First, Dr. Areheart examines your mouth, listens to what you want, and lays out your options. If teeth need to come out, we schedule that and let your gums heal, unless an immediate denture makes more sense.
Then come impressions and measurements. This is the step worth being picky about, because the fit of the finished denture is decided here. At the try-in you check the shape and shade of the teeth in a mirror, and nothing goes to the lab for final fabrication until you've approved how it looks.
When your denture is ready, we fit it, fine-tune it, and show you how to handle and clean it. Sore spots in the first few weeks are normal and take minutes to correct, so don't tough them out. We're in the office Monday through Thursday, 8 to 5.
Dr. Areheart earned his DMD from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2011, then served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force, where an advanced residency added extra training in implant and sedation dentistry. He joined Piedmont Dental in 2014 and has cared for Rock Hill smiles ever since.

There's no single denture price, because there's no single denture. The number depends on a few things: full or partial, the materials in the base and the teeth, how many extractions come first, and if implants are part of the plan.

Usually a few weeks from first impressions to final fitting, spread over several visits. An immediate denture is placed the same day your teeth are extracted, then refined over the following months as your gums heal and settle.
A well-fitted denture shouldn't announce itself. During the try-in you and Dr. Areheart choose the tooth shade and shape together, and nothing is finalized until you like what you see in the mirror.
Some soreness and extra saliva in the first week or two is normal. A sore spot usually means the denture needs a small tweak. Call us and we'll fix it, often in minutes.
Yes. Your gums need daily time out from under the denture, and overnight is the natural window. Clean it after eating and let it soak while you sleep.
Often, yes. Gums and bone slowly change shape, so a denture that fit well at the start can loosen. A reline restores the fit in many cases. If yours is past saving, ask about implant-supported dentures.
