Meet the Dentist
Dr. Ben Areheart, DMD
Dr. Areheart handles most of what a family needs in one place: general and preventive dentistry, cosmetic work, pediatric care, periodontal treatment, wisdom teeth removal, oral surgery and TMJ treatment. Root canals go to the endodontic specialists we refer to, and our front desk arranges that for you.
He is also trained in sedation dentistry and pain control, which is why IV sedation is available here for patients who find dental work hard to sit through.

Dr. Ben Areheart has practised at Piedmont Dental since 2014. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry in Charleston in 2011, then served in the United States Air Force, where he reached the rank of captain and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency. That residency is why he is comfortable across several specialties rather than referring most things out, and it included training in sedation dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and pain control.
What patients tend to say
The word that comes up most often in reviews is gentle. The second is time: that he does not rush, and that he explains what he is looking at while he is looking at it. If a tooth can be saved he will say so, and if it cannot he will say that too, before you are committed to anything.
A practice he owns
Piedmont Dental is owned by the dentist who runs it. Dr. Areheart is a founding member of CorpFree, which verifies that a practice is independently owned rather than operated by a corporate group. In practice it means the person deciding what treatment you need is the person providing it, and he is not working to someone else’s production targets.
Outside the office
He and his wife have three children. He hunts, fishes, travels, follows sport, enjoys a good meal, and sings along with the radio in a falsetto that his family has learned to live with.
Seeing Dr. Areheart
The practice is at 1562 Constitution Blvd #101 in Rock Hill, open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. New patients are welcome.
