One team for every age

Dental care for the whole family in one Rock Hill office

Family dentistry at Piedmont Dental means one dentist, Dr. Ben Areheart, caring for your kids, you and your parents at the same office on Constitution Blvd. You see the same faces at every visit, and you hear the cost before any work begins.

The heart of our practice is dependable general dentistry, done carefully and on schedule. Cleanings that stay on schedule, cavities caught while they're still small, and a front desk that remembers your name.

Checkups & Cleanings

Twice-a-year cleanings and exams with our hygiene team. Small problems get caught here, while they're still cheap and easy to fix.

About cleanings →

Fillings

Tooth-colored fillings for cavities at any age, shade-matched so the repair disappears into the tooth. Usually finished in a single numbed visit.

Kids & Teens

First visits, sealants, fluoride and a team with a long track record of turning nervous kids into old pros in the chair.

Kids' dentistry →

Crowns & Bridges

When a tooth is too worn or broken for a filling, a custom crown restores its shape and strength. A bridge closes the gap a missing tooth leaves behind.

About crowns →

Extractions & Wisdom Teeth

When a tooth truly can't be saved, we remove it gently and talk through replacement options before you leave the chair.

Emergency Visits

Broken teeth and bad toothaches rarely pick a convenient week. Call us first and we will tell you exactly how quickly we can get you in.

Dental nerves run in families.

If you or your teenager dreads the chair, ask about IV sedation. It's rare for a general practice in Rock Hill, and it lets anxious patients relax through longer procedures.

The dentist your family will see

Dr. Ben Areheart, DMD

Dr. Areheart has been the dentist at Piedmont since 2014. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 2011, then served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force, where an advanced residency added implant and sedation training on top of general dentistry.

He's also a dad of three, so a squirmy seven-year-old in the chair doesn't rattle him. And the team around him has real staying power. Our assistants and hygienists have served Rock Hill families for more than twenty years, including a two-time South Carolina Dental Hygienist of the Year.

That continuity is the quiet advantage of a family practice. The person cleaning your child's teeth may be the same one who cleaned yours.

The cost question

What family dental care costs

It depends on what each person needs. A routine cleaning and exam is a very different visit from a crown, so instead of quoting numbers up front, Dr. Areheart looks first and tells you what he'd recommend and why.

You'll always get the plan and the numbers before anything starts. And nobody here treats a checkup as a sales appointment.

Will insurance cover our visits?

We file almost all insurances if your plan allows out of network providers, and preventive care like cleanings and exams is the most commonly covered dental service there is. Our front desk will help with your specific situation before anyone sits in the chair.

Why it matters

Why one dentist for the whole family?

Continuity, mostly. Your family's records, x-rays and history live in one place, and a dentist who has seen your teeth for years notices the patterns that run in families, like a parent's deep molar grooves showing up in a child, before they become problems.

And when something does need a specialist, such as a root canal or braces for a teenager, we don't just hand you a phone number. Dr. Areheart diagnoses it here, coordinates the referral to a specialist we trust, and handles the follow-up care ourselves, including the crown after a root canal when one is needed.

Common questions

Family dentistry FAQs

What ages do you see?

All of them. We see young children, teenagers, parents and grandparents, and some Rock Hill families have three generations as patients here. Kids get care matched to their age, starting with short, easy first visits.

Can we schedule the whole family together?

Often, yes. Tell the front desk who is coming when you call and they'll stack appointments back to back when the schedule allows, so one trip can cover everyone.

Do you take our insurance?

We file almost all insurances if your plan allows out of network providers. Our front desk will help with your specific situation.

Do you do braces or root canals in the office?

No, and we'd rather be straight with you about it. Dr. Areheart diagnoses both, manages any pain, and coordinates your referral to a trusted local specialist. For root canals, we handle the crown afterward when one is needed.

What happens at a first visit?

An exam with Dr. Areheart, x-rays if you need them, and usually a cleaning with one of our hygienists. You'll leave knowing where your teeth stand and what, if anything, needs attention. We're open Monday through Thursday, 8 to 5.

What if someone has a dental emergency?

Call us at (803) 328-3886. If you have a dental emergency, we can often treat you the same day depending on the complexity of the problem.

One call covers the whole family

Tell the front desk who needs to be seen, from a kindergartner's first visit to grandma's crown, and they'll get everyone on the schedule.
