What Should You Expect With a Tooth Extraction?

Aftercare & Healing

You will need to be able to ride home after your tooth removal. To ease any discomfort, we will give you painkillers. Keep track of your medication so that you feel the best during your recovery. These tips will help you make your healing and recovery smooth.

• To reduce swelling and inflammation, use a moist towel or an icepack.
• Keep your liquid intake to smoothies and juices at first and then add soft foods such as soups, stews and applesauce to the mix until blood clots subside and the area feels tender.
• No harsh spitting! Warm salt water can be used to gently rinse your mouth to aid in healing sensitive areas.
• Both alcohol and tobacco should be avoided as they can slow down the healing process.
