What we can do for your smile

Five ways to fix what's bugging you

Most people come in with one thing that bothers them, not a list. Point it out and Dr. Areheart will tell you which of these fits.

Teeth Whitening

Professional whitening lifts years of coffee and tea staining in a way drugstore strips can't. Most patients see a dramatic difference after one treatment.

About whitening →

Porcelain/Composite Veneers

Thin porcelain shells that cover chips, gaps and deep discoloration. We match the shade to your natural teeth so it looks like your smile, just better.

Dental Bonding

The quick fix for a small chip or gap. Tooth-colored resin, shaped and polished chairside. Often the least expensive way to solve a cosmetic problem.

About bonding →

Crowns & Bridges

When a tooth is too damaged for bonding, a custom crown restores its shape and strength. A bridge fills the space where a tooth is missing.

About crowns →

Dental Implants

The permanent answer to a missing tooth. Dr. Areheart trained in implant dentistry during his Air Force residency and handles implant cases in-house.

The dentist behind the work

Dr. Ben Areheart, DMD

Dr. Areheart graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 2011, then served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force, where he completed an advanced residency covering cosmetic, implant and sedation dentistry. He's been at Piedmont Dental since 2014.

Outside the office he's a husband, a dad of three, and a man who will defend his falsetto radio singing to anyone who asks. Patients tend to mention two things in reviews: he's gentle, and visits go faster than they expected.

Piedmont Dental is your family dentist in Rock Hill first. Cosmetic work is simply part of taking care of the whole smile.

The cost question

What cosmetic dentistry costs

It depends on the tooth and the treatment. Bonding a single chip and a full set of veneers are very different projects, so we don't quote prices until Dr. Areheart has looked at your teeth and told you what he would recommend.

He'll tell you what he'd recommend and what it costs, and you decide from there.

Will insurance cover it?

Insurance rarely covers purely cosmetic treatment, but restorative work like crowns often qualifies. We file with your insurance for you. Our front desk will tell you what your plan covers before you commit to anything.

Worth it?

Is cosmetic work worth the money?

We give you the full picture and let you decide. What we see in practice: people who stopped smiling in photos start again. If a chipped front tooth or stained teeth bother you every time you look in the mirror, fixing it tends to matter more than people expect.

And you don't need a full makeover to walk in here. Plenty of our cosmetic cases are one bonded chip or a single crown.

Common questions

Cosmetic dentistry FAQs

Does cosmetic dental work hurt?

Most of it is painless. Whitening and bonding usually need no numbing at all. For bigger procedures we numb the area, and IV sedation is available if you want it.

How long do veneers last?

Typically 10 to 15 years with normal care. They're porcelain, so they don't stain the way natural enamel does.

Can you fix just one tooth?

Yes. Plenty of our cosmetic cases are a single bonded chip or one crown. You don't need a full smile makeover to come in.

How white can my teeth get?

Professional whitening typically lifts teeth several shades. Dr. Areheart will show you a realistic target on a shade guide before you start, so there are no surprises.

Do you see cosmetic patients from outside Rock Hill?

All the time. We're about 10 minutes from Fort Mill and see patients from Tega Cay, Lake Wylie, York and Newport. Directions from Fort Mill.
