York is the closest of the surrounding towns to us. Piedmont Dental is at 1562 Constitution Blvd in Rock Hill, about 22 minutes and under 13 miles from downtown York, almost all of it a straight run east on SC-5.
That makes Piedmont a realistic everyday practice for York families rather than a special trip. Dr. Benjamin Areheart graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2011, served as a captain in the Air Force, and has been practising in Rock Hill since 2014.

Insurance
Most of our patients have dental insurance and we file almost every plan. Piedmont Dental has never been contracted with an insurance company, so we are an out of network provider. Your benefits still apply and we still handle the claim; what changes is the split, because an in network office has agreed a discounted fee schedule with that insurer and we have not. Dental insurance works differently from medical insurance, and many times out of network and in network benefits can be the same or very close. How close depends on your plan.

Via Old York Road: SC-161 / Old York Rd into Rock Hill. About 23 minutes and 13.5 miles, and a nicer drive if you are not in a hurry.

Are you accepting new patients from York?

Do you pull teeth, or do I need to go somewhere else?
We handle extractions here, wisdom teeth included, and IV sedation is available. Root canals are the one thing we refer out, to endodontic specialists, and our front desk sets that up for you.

Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Closed Friday through Sunday.
Your First Visit
A first appointment is an examination, X-rays where they are needed, and a cleaning. Dr. Areheart goes through what he finds while you are still in the chair, in plain language, and you hear the costs before any treatment is scheduled. If something needs doing urgently he will say so, and if something can reasonably wait he will say that too.
If it has been years rather than months since your last visit, that is normal here and nobody will make an issue of it. What to expect at your first visit walks through the whole appointment if you would rather know in advance.
